My Hope

When will our families live together?

We were separated two years ago.

We had applied to immigration with our whole family.

But our couple only got immigrant visa.

My two daughters didn`t get the visa.

When we heard the news, we all were surprised and confused.

I thought for many days about whether or not my wife and I should go to

the USA or not without our daughters.

Finally I decided to immigrate into USA after discussing with my family.

I was very sad and depressed.

After settling down in the USA passed two years already.

I want to meet my daughters.

Every day we call to my daughters.

But it`s not satisfying me.

How gloomy is it!

Fortunately my daughters, Eunki and Sunki have B1 and B2 visa to come to the USA.

My younger daughter Sunki will graduate university in February next year.

Therefore she will visit us in January next month.

My wife and I are looking forward to seeing our daughter Sunki.

I want to reunite with my family as soon as possible.

God bless us!

My two favorite books.

When my daughter Alejandra and my son Fabian started elementary school, I began to put together a scrapbook for each one of them.
I took the most important pictures, assignments, awards, school newspaper,
regular newspaper, etc. and I started two scrapbooks collecting all of the information from school about Alex and Fabian.
When I open these scrapbooks, I remember my two beautiful kids doing sports, like: cross country, track, wrestling and basketball. Time that my husband and I enjoyed a lot, giving them motivation to improve their times and their accomplishments.
All the time they would win many awards, and the last two years in high school they had state competitions, Alex one time and Fabian several other times, wining two several 1st. place or 2ND. place medals.
Now I know that sports help out kids and teenagers keep focus in school, but parents also need to push and support them all the time.

GOOD FRIENDS

"Years ago in the dark night between two far away ranches the residents heard a cried of the old woman walking through the streets. Later they heard a sound of a horse galloping around the ranch".

Suddenly my mom yelled a strong "aaaahh!!!" and all kids jumped out of their chairs.
This was one of the most unforgettable anecdotes of my childhood. I remember when was a child my brothers and friends usually spent the afternoon of the day monopolized my mother's time.

When the sun was gone and the night was starting my mom took her chair and about seven or eight kids around her waiting for a scary story.

That night we listened about more than one hour in astonishment to my mom. After that, every sound, the shadow of one tree or something touched us was so frightening.

Next my friends didn't want to return to their house because they had so much fear. Finally they ran so fast until they stayed safe in their houses.

A Good Friend

When I was a student of middle school, I met several friends.
I had four familiar friends. We met continuously until we became adults.
Among four friends, one friend's name was Shin.
One day, Shin introduced a woman to me. Three people met several times.
We went to the church, climbed the mountain, watched the movies....
I was falling in love with her. I wished to marry her. If I married with her, Shin promised that he would be cheering at the wedding ceremony.
But unfortunately, he passed away in February 1992. He had leukemia.
I was so sad.
I married with her in November 1992. He couldn't keep his promise with me.
He will be my highest friend forever.

Live Mocha

I've just discovered an interesting website for learning a second language! It's called LiveMocha, and it's like a cross between a language class and Facebook. You create an account (it's free!) and work through lessons for the language you want to learn, but you can also chat with native speakers, make friends, and get encouragement from other people. One of my friends is learning Spanish right now from it, and loves it! You can't get to the link here at school, but you can do it at home if you want. I haven't tried it, so I don't know exactly how it works, but I just wanted you to know about it. Good luck!

Guns.

When I was fifteen years old. My cousin Chuy and I were playing in the plaza. He told me,¨ Lorena let´s go to the lake. I have my Dad´s gun.¨ Immediately we went to the lake and tried to kill a duck with the gun 48. I remember that it was beautiful and heavy. We were excited because it was a new experience for me, but when my uncle Jose found out, He was very angry because it is dangerous. The most important thing is that we never had an accident. We only did it for fun. I´m sad because my cousin Chuy died on October 14, 2006 in Pennsylvania somebody killed him. He lost his life with a gun shot. I always remember him in the moments I have spent with him.

AM I FORTUNATE?

The people think you are fortunate because you are legal in this country! But I have been through many things they don't know. Yes, I am but before I lost my father for almost 10 years. He was working hard in the USA. During this time he only went to visit us in Mexico three times. He never stayed with my mom, sister and me on many occasions like Christmas, birthdays, graduations and other special days for the family. I would give everything I have, if I could go back the time to recover the life with my Dad. Thanks to my Dad I can be safe in this country. Finally I think he's soo proud, because he wanted us in the USA, and now we are where he wanted us to be.

Julian

Dear son: Last Night you asked me: If you write a letter for me, would I write one for you?

I promised to do it, not only because you want it, but because I love you very much like every day I told you. I am so proud of you my charming son. You have been my turbulence since you have been in my life. I had no time to be boring or quite, when you were kicking me in the stomach, and you didn't let me sleep.

After a few months later you wanted to walk and run. I had to go with you every step. Some time later you were my Spiderman. I had to help you jump everywhere. Later on, I had to run behind you on your bike. I made swords with Styrofoam for you and me to fight. I built a hopscotch in the living room to jump with you. We invented a camping with chairs and sheets to sleep in.

Something very cute was when you always were helping me to cook. You made a very delicious gingerbread man cookies, and another kind of breads and pies. We have been doing a lot of funny things together. I wish always we will do.

Finally you are my very best baseball and soccer player of all. You are the best son I ever had.

My WeEkEnD

What a weekend I had! So many things I did and I was so busy. Early Friday morning I was sick in bed. But it sucked because it was Halloween and all I did was hand out candy to the little kids that were dressed up in their cute costumes. After that my stepmother and I watched movies all night. The one I liked the best was Shutter. It was scary. On Saturday morning my homeboy Jacob came over and we also watched movies. Following that, Jacob and I had helped my stepmother move in. What a Day! That next day I got up and got ready and had to go to my family get together. Which following that we also had a get together at my step sister's house as well. So much drama! All of the family was fighting. So I went home and fall asleep. I was so very tired! Over all this weekend it was so long. What a weekend!

/*/*/*/* Coming Back /*/*/*/*

Four months ago I left a lot things in my city and took the decision and came
to study English . I knew that it would be hard for me to leave my city but
I knew I needed to learn English because it is very important for my career.
I miss the city, friends, habits, routines, etc.
Besides those days when I spent some days walking through the city, and
other days when I was expecting the weekend to enjoy it with my friends
and forget our job's routine. We had a relaxing weekend and feeling tired
at the end of the week, but with the satisfaction have had a magnificent
weekend and get ready to begin the next week.

In the meantime my effort ought to be focused in improve my English.
After all that was the idea to come here and be in a unknown country with
a cultuere and life different than my life. Let me tell you something; I'm happy
because soon I'll be in my city with my people, but unfortunately just for one
month because I have to come back to finish what I began.

CoMiNg BaCk

My extended day I was at the airport on my way back from California to Colorado. Early that morning I had an two hour flight from Ontario to Colorado Springs Airport. An hour after I got off the plane, I sat there waiting and waiting. Mean while my mom had fallen asleep in the airport parking lot. Finally she came in and got me and got in the car and went home. When we got to the house everyone was surprised. Besides no one knew I was coming home. After everyone said hi and gave me hugs and kisses, we had a Welcome Home party. We ate pizza, had some drinks and played some card games. It was so fun! After everyone had left, I was so exhausted. Just sitting there thinking about my day, and how long it was. But it was worth it seeing my family smile.

Halloween Comments!!

November is one of the most expected months for my children and the families love to wear costumes and scary personal articles.
Last Friday October,31 my children and I went to Down Town and walked about two or three long blocks to collect candies.
We past some funny moments and others scary because surprising behind a tree appeared a horrible muster and touched my back with long black nails.
I enjoyed seeing the grand diversity of costumes some Batman,Princess,Baby Bee,one Doll with her dirty dress, etc.
The costume I most remember is a girl looked like a big spider on a table. She had more creativity.
After that we decided to go to other place.
The next place was the Festival of Halloween in Salvation Army.
My children enjoyed very much playing and won some candies on each game until their pumpkin basket was full.
This pictures is my ninja son Pablo. He loved the clowns painting his face.

Halloween day

On Friday, October 31 Halloween day I went with my sons Jonathan, Pedro, my sister Aracely and her sons Obed, Pablo to the Down Town to go trick-or-treating.
We walked for about 1 hour around the stores to get candies and we took advantage to have some pictures and see the others peoples costumes. After that we were deciding what other place could go to get more candies. Days ago we were knowing what Salvation Army will have a festival to celebrate Halloween, so we went here.
At this place we found many funny contest were my sons could have candies, "many, many candies". They had their pumpkins full in a short time so, they had extra time to jump in the "bounce house" and painted their faces too. After that we went to eat hot dogs, cake, chips and drank water. Salvation Army brought the food too.
We had a terrific Halloween day!.

That's Right..... NOTHING TO LOSE

Why people feel the fear run into the veins when
something new in their lives is about to happen?...

What is that puts on alert all and each one of the
senses in the body and doesn't leave have a reaction?.
Probably the people feel safe themselves in their current
condition. And it is easier to remain the same how they are
than have a change in their lives and experiment a different
focus in the everyday life or lifestyle to earn one's living.

they feel nothing good is going to happen if they try
something different and new. The worse of this situation is
that some people don't have even the conscience they need
to make a change in their live.

What do we need to change??... But do something new guarantees us
all in our lives Will be different and better after we do something
novel??? .... I don't think so!!!.... But why do something different
if we are ok???. Perhaps not always the change ocurr in our environment
but inside of us, because that give us strength, character and the force
to keep us alive.

After all .... nothing to lose.. really??

If you never try.....
You will never know

When I was a child, ten years old, my favorite place was the Chuviscar River. I lived in a small community, where old people knows who lives in each house.
The river environment gave the opportunity to construct houses with the trees and bushes, and we had places to play for a long time.
Maqui and Elena were my best friends. We played to little house, we listened to music, etc. Also we went to the edge of the river to fishing little fish with the hands. We put the fish in a bottle for our house. We watched and took care them.

I VOTED

Yesterday was an amazing day for me, because I went to vote. This is my first time voting in this country. I'm from Mexico and I am a naturalized citizen of the USA. In March of the present year, I received the most important right for the citizens people, VOTE.
This election for President of the USA is one of the most important of the last years, because for a first time an African-American is elected to be a candidate for a Democratic Party. I don't know if it's a secret vote, but I voted for Barack Obama for the new President of the USA. I voted for a change in this country. Now we need to wait to November 4th for to know who will be the new President. Barack Obama or John McCain.

The Turning Point

It was February 9,2008. I'd just walked in the house, coming home from sleeping over at a friend's house. As usually I was up stairs in my room picking out clothes to wear for the day. "Rie Rie, Cam is here!", my aunt yelled. As I was walking down the stairs to greet him, he turned to face me. Looking into his glossy dark brown eyes, I knew something was wrong.

As I rested his head on my shoulder, "D Mitch is gone!" Cam said. He passed away this morning. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Now tears were running down my cheeks. "What happened? I just talked to the two of you last night". Cam started telling me at the party they attended last night some guys started running off at the mouth. D Mitch tried to defend himself. Next thing noticed gun shots started to pop off. D Mitch and Samoan had gotten hit. Neither one of them made it.

After finishing up telling me what had happened, Cam went driving around to catch some air. For a second I couldn't move. I just stood there in complete shock. I couldn't believe what had happened. D Mitch was one of the most warm hearted people I've ever known. He always knew how to light up a whole room with his beautiful smile. And now he's gone.

A Place Called "El Bosque"

My favorite place when I was child was a park called "El Bosque".
This park was located two miles at east of the down town in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico place where I was born.
The park are surrounded of enormous trees and green grass.
In this epoch I was eight years old and my brother Pepe who was two years older than me.
Every weekend my father named Jose took two bicycles, lifted and put them in the car.
After that we went to "El Bosque".
This park had some roads with hills, ramps to enjoy an adventure on the bicycles, while we enjoyed the trip, my father was sitting to read the sports newspaper.
After playing on the bicycles, we went to the playground and played on the swings and the teeter-totter.
Then, around the park there were some people with some baskets where they put a lot kind of candies, where my dad bought that for us.
We spent all afternoon in this park.
I am thirty-four years old now, but I remember that like it was yesterday.

THE PLACE TO MEET

When I was teenager one of my favorite places was the down town in my city Morelia, Michoacan. This is in Mexico.
I liked to sit down on the edge of the fountain with the group of my friends Paloma, Marichu, Laura and Candy, to watch the people walk back and forth.
We got there everyday after school and stayed for a while.
After we spend a little time together, everybody took their own way.
My friend Paloma and I went sometimes to "Samborn's cafe" another times to "Vips Cafe", where every time smelled good.
We sat down to talk about our day in the school sometimes laughing remembering something fun we had or saw in the school.
We spend all afternoon talking and drinking coffe.
Every time we paid like one dollar and drank all coffee we want.
When I got out from there I was hyper, like I was flying or something like that because I drank about ten cups of coffe.

Giving Birth To My Son

Well I'm not much of a story teller, but I will try my best. When I was 16 years old I found out that I would be a mother real soon. Being so young and scared out of my mind, I thought I would keep it to myself. So that's just what I did. I was so scared and alone. I never went to the hospital, so I really didn't know when it would be time to bring my child into the world.

It was November 6th of 2004. I was home with my little brother and father. I didn't know what was going on, I just knew I had this really bad headache. I told my dad, but he wouldn't give me a pain reliever because I haven't ate anything. Next thing I noticed I was in the bathroom every 2 minutes. My water had broken. I didn't know because I kept using the bathroom. The last time I was in the bathroom I felt my son's head. " Oh my god!" I yelled out.

I quickly pulled up my pants and ran to my room. I laid on my fat boys chair and called my dad. "Dad come here now!" "It's coming", I said. My dad looked at me crazy. "Whats going on?", he said. "The baby", I said. My dad ran to his cell phone and called my grandparents, who lived 2 blocks down. Before I knew it I gave birth to my son in my bedroom.

SUMMER FAMILY

I had a great summer, because my husband's family came from Mexico. They were fifteen people. My husband had not seen his family in three years, and my siter-in-law seven years. They were very excited. Because his family was here we decided to baptize my little girl Stephanie. She's one year old. My sister-in-law also baptize her two sons Raul and Oscar. We made a "Big Party" for all the family. The rest of the days all the family went to the mountains, exactly Hellen Hunt Falls, Garden of the Gods. We visited many, many stores and muche more.
Finally they went back to Mexico, and the vacation was done.

A FUN WEEKEND.

On Sunday we went to Denver to watch a game. It was Colorado Rapids vs Chicago Fire. We went there because my husband and my son like it. The team Chicago Fire has a Mexican player. His name is Cuahtemoc Blanco.
Later we went to a salon and my husband and my two daugthers got a hair cut.

After that we went to Leanela's to get food and returned to my house and made dinner and watched t.v.
That is what we did on the weekend.

OUR FAVORITE PARK

When I was a child eleven years old, I was in the middle school. I had a friend my cousin Diana. Our favorite place to be it was a park "El Parque Lerdo". This park is in Chihuahua, and it was the closest to my cousin's house.

There were a lot of very good places to stay: quiet, noise, and funny. We always chose a good place to go every time we were there.

We went almost every weekend and some times some days of the week.
Been there for a while or for few hours it was very pleasing, heither if we were eating an ice cream, enjoying the flowers, the singing of the birds, the yelling of the children, the people walking.

Some times we just talked about our feelings, our friends, our family, or any boys who like us.

It is a very pleasant memory to remember.

Favorite Place

Bone crushing, smell of the green cut grass, and getting hit in the cold. Wearing at least 25 pounds of heavy equipment, the sreaming of the fans, and the howling of the coaches.

I was young at least eight of age playing football to get away from my brothers and sister, even my mom and dad. Seven and three was my first winning season.

My favorite place was to walk 1 to 5 miles to Memorial Park though the dead plants, bees flying around, and sun blazing in the sky, dog chasing me out of his terrtory, and doing this while wearing all of my equipment. My favorite place is playing football. Sweating, in pain, and tired, but walking back home joyful.

My favorite place

My favorite place is on the beach with my family on the Island of Guam. The distance from Guam to Hawaii is 7 to 8 hours awayby plane. Guam is where my family and I are from.

As a young child my family and I would go to the beach often. We would set up a canapy, play loud music and bar-b-que. I wouls sit in the hot sun abd on the soft , warm sand.

My brother and I, also my cousins Eugean and Jaidee we all would go swimming in the deep water and look down to see the fish and coral. The water was warm from the sun, It was a light shade of green and blue. We would stay there all day untill the park was ready to close.

Someday I would love to go back and visit my family.

A nice place to be

When I was 10 years old, I was living in Mexico City. My sister Lorena who was 12 years old and I used to go to a park close to our house. We liked that park because the older kids used to play in the new park so they left the old park just for us. That was our favorite place to spend our time together. We loved to play soccer and basketball. The park was next to our school "Ninos Heroes" and sometimes we stayed there after school with our friends Jazmin and Jacky they were my sister's age. We had a very fun and long day each other.Sometimes we used to lay down in the grass and look at the sky to see the clouds. I remember that my mom used to get mad at us because we came home late.
This was my favorite place to be and I'll always remember it.

My Favorite Place

My favorite place now is my sweet home. My house looks like powerful. If I am with my family I feel comfortable.

I have two children the boy is 14 years old and the girl is 10 years old. Their name's are Roger, and Janely. I don't have to worry about anything if we are together, and healthy. I enjoy to stay at home with my family. We have fun all together. We live in Colorado Springs, Co.

My house is lovely, warm, and peaceful. That's the reason why it is my sweet home. I have everything here in my house and I do my best to keep it like that.

The Magic Grandmother's House

My favorite place when I was 7-9 years-old was my grandmother's Ana Maria house.

Consequently most of the family (uncles and cousins) to reunite in weekends for to share and past a good day.

The kids played together, they ran around the house, climbed the trees, swung in the hammock of my grandfather or played in the canalito that crossed the house.

I loved to play in the canalito because I made boats of paper and floated them on the water or my sister and I cut some flowers that grow beside the canalito.

One of many reason we visit to my grand mom was she made a delicious bread and empanadas and she usually made this on Saturdays.

My mom and aunts helped her to make the bread and my dad, grandfather and uncles sat in shadow of a enormous tree to converse.

In the afternoon when the bread was ready, we all ate and enjoyed with my grandmother.

My beloved place

My beloved place when I was 12 years old was to go up to the top of my house in Sinaloa Mexico.

I liked to stay there because I could sit and listen to the birds singing, see the sky and treat for to found some shapes clouds and see how look the trees too.

When I stayed here I liked to find a dot where the sunlight felt hot, I relish feeling these in my body. That is relaxing for me.

That was a place where I could think, reflect or only take a moment alone. I could spend hours here. When I remember that moments I can to transfer to that charming time.

Our Special Day

I am not much of a storyteller, but I will try my best. March 22, 2007. I made the biggest decision of my life. That was the day my husband and I decided to get married .

We had no family members around, it was just us. That day my husband and I were at home. At the time we already planned to get married, but we had family members that disagreed with our decision. So, we got married alone.

That morning we didn't know that we would have ended up husband and wife by the end of the night. To me it seemed like the longest day ever.

We were laying in bed and out of no where I said to him, "Let's do it!" He said, "Do what?" I said, "Get married!" and being my husband (the person that likes to think things through), he asked me , "Are you sure?" and I said, "Yes!"

We've gone to Centennial Hall several times. We've answered the questions, raised our right hands, and paid the lady 10 dollars , but we never actually went through with it. That day was different. As we were walking into the building I looked at him and said, "This is it. Are you sure you are ready?" He said, " I have never been more ready in my life." Right then I knew this was right.

We sat down and for the third time we answered the questions and raised our right hands. Then the lady asked me, "Will you be changing your last name?" With no hesitation and big smile I said, "Yes!" After we were done she gave us the paper and said, " After you get this signed you can either sent it in or bring it back."

At the time one of my co-workers was a registered minister. So, I gave her a call and asked if she would mind signing the paper and she agreed. The next day we brought the paper back and the same lady was there and she said, " That was fast."

Up till this day I still remember everything, that was our special day.

MY FIRST DAY

I would like to share my first writing in English.

My first day of pre GED class was exciting because I passed a level higher to learn.
Today was a little hard day for my boy. Marcos who is 3 years old, didn't go to class because his classes will start next Tuesday.

Today he came with Karla, my wife and me. He stayed in the classroom with our group, sat in a corner, and started to draw on a piece of paper.
After 1 hour he was so bored and he started to hit the table with the pencil.I understood, because it is so hard for a boy 3 years old to sit still in a one place for three hours only drawing and writing.

Then, the Principal of the school arrived in the classroom and called my wife.
She told her that our boy cannot stay in the class room with her.
She said to my wife, "Your son is interrupting the man who is taking a test." My wife said, "That man is his dad."

My wife took my boy with her to the Early Head Start classroom with my other child named Emiliano, who is ten months old.
She stayed there until the class finished.

A family day off

September 1st. was a day off for my whole family. We decided to enjoy the day together. My husband Fabian who loves fishing, prepared everything to go fishing at Woodland Park. This city has a beautiful lake.

My son Fabian who is nineteen year old, my daughter Alejandra who is eighteen years old, my husband and myself arrived at Woodland Park, but on the way there, someone made a comment about Cripple Creek and everybody decided to go to this city instead of fishing because my daughter and son had never visited Cripple Creek before.
We stopped at a beautiful restaurant inside the city. After, we decided to visit the museum located at the entrance of Cripple Creek.

The museum had a lot of history about the mines, the community and the technology from the l880's, 90's.

In the 3rd. floor of the museum they had arranged a regular home from the
l800's with maniquies wearing old clothes from these times, old furnitures, etc.

In the 2nd. floor we had a chance to see the technology about the older telephone, telegraph, printer machine, floor plans of the mines that were located under the earth, and also the newspaper from these times.

At the end of the day we drove to the city and then returned to our house. Then we prepared to go to help my sister start packing and moving all of her things, (furnitures, boxes, etc.)in to a uhaul truck.

One Crazy Dream

My eyes were about to close when I was watching The Butterfly Effect. It was at this part where the kids were down stairs with the dad video taping them. I fell asleep and then I took one of the kids spot, but i was just wearing boxers and shoes. The little girl was saying, "We are going to have fun huh?"

Then out of no where I pulled out a gun that look like a bazooka, but it shot Butterflies. So I'm shooting the dad with Butterflies, and he was just screaming like a mad man in the mental institution. Then the little girl screamed, "Don't hurt my daddy!"

Then she got on her knee and BAM she punch me where boys should not be hit.(If you dont know just come and talk to me)
I started crying and screaming in pain so i shot a butterfly in my hand and give it to her and I screamed to her, "Ill be your hero!"

Then when I turned around the dad was standing there with a shovel and then he swung the shovel, and it connected with my head. I woke up fast, and checked my head to see if it was still in place. The movie was over, the credits were rolling.

"That was one crazy dream I had." I said to myself

Prayer.

God grand me the SERENITY to accept the thing I cannot change COURAGE to change the thing I can, and WISDOM to know the difference.

SeƱor dame la SERENIDAD para aceptar las cosas que no puedo cambiar y VALOR para cambiar las cosas que si puedo y SABIDURIA para conocer la diferencia.

THE BIGGEST MOM.

I have been married for 7 years. I enjoy taking care of my kids Lorena 12 years old, Alondra 6 years old and Marco 22 months old, watching them grow is a great experience.

You get can see how much they are learning throughout the years. I don't get paid for this job. My reward are hugs and kisses and their accomplishment. I am happy when my daughter Lorena told me, " Mamy, Mamy, I have A in my report card"

Being a mother is very rewarding. In a real job you don't get such amazing rewards.

Becoming a mother has been the best thing that ever happened to me.

A BIT OF MY SUMMER

We didn't have a big trip, but we had a fun summer, because we did many things. First we went to "Eleven Miles Lake", my husband Marcos, my kids Marquitos 3 years-old, Emiliano 10 months-old, and our friends Maria and Roman with their daugthers Luna and Sol .
We had a big picnic in there. Roman had a boat so we got up and stayed in the water for long time. So we spent all day in the reserve.
Another day we went to the "Elich Garden", but we had a little problem. We went on Tuesday, so we found a paper in the tickets window where it said,"The atractions are closed, open only weekends." We thought we had driven about 1 1/2 hours for nothing "noooooo!!!!"
We decided to go to the aquarium. It was beautiful and big experince. We saw sharks, turtles,a lots of kinds of fishes.
We stayed there for a long time and also we ate there and spent all day.

BACK TO SCHOOL AFTER MANY YEARS

My first day of class was great. My teacher's name is Sue. I haven't been to school like in six to seven years. It's something big for me to come back to school. I'm excited! There are like about 15 students in the classroom. I want to get my GED to be a CNA or do nails and waxing. I love having my nails done. My sister-in-law is done with school, in two more weeks. She went to school for cosmetology. She wants to open her shop. I want to do the nails and the waxing while she does cutting, and coloring hair. I'm also thinking about being a CNA because it is a short career and you get certified in like a month or so.
I was born and raised in Chicago. I went to school there. I only got to 9th grade. So it's a big change for me to come to school after so long.

Pleasing days

This summer I did many things. My children were out of school and I needed to find something fun to do with them. Fortunately, my husband's family came from Mexico and we spent all our time together.

Every afternoon we went to my sister- in -law's house because my mother-in-law, nieces and nephews were here. These were the hottest days and we spent most of the time outside sitting at the picnic tables. That was good because we could have conversations and remember anecdotes about our families, and take advantage of the grill. We ate barbecue, fresh fish, ceviche and fresh chicken. That was good because we could make great memories.

One day we went to the Helen Hunt Falls. We walked up and took pictures. That was a hot day too, and my son, nieces and nephews took advantage of the coldest waterfall. That was a fun moment for them.

After that, we went up the route and crossed two dark and humid caves, it was "scary" moment, we screamed a little and my husband and brothers-in-law blew the horn to his cars. This was a grand day. Unfortunately, the summer came to an end and they returned to Mexico, but I remembered the times we shared together.

Campfire

This summer break was the most busy of the other years. I hope my two children enjoyed it, as I did.

My best part of everything we did was the Campfire where we went one night to the Fountain Creek Park. It was exciting, scary, and funny. The children were excited and happy taking a walk through all the park, trying to find all kind of animals or watching different things.

The Translator told us a lot of histories about the park, the creek, the ancestors of Colorado, and part of their lives.

We were about seven families with one to two children each, and we stayed only for few hours there.

As the night got dark, we made a fire. We made s'mores burning marshmallows. The children lay down on the ground trying to look for owls and bats.

After that I was so glad to get back home because I was so nervous of the dark and the animals.

My FiRsT dAy

My first day of school in my G.E.D class was very interesting. First off I met so many different people. my classmates were very nice. Also i was busy with so many assignments. We had so many different discussions about the election, and we made a name for our weblog. Which we called it " Writers Of The Futures". I had an awesome time. Finally the day was over and my class ended of 11:15 and I went home. All and All my first day was very interesting.

BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND

This large weekend was soo funny because my family came from Houston, TX.

They are my cousin Pepe, his wife Sonia, and his children Pepe and Jennifer, my favorite cousin Adriana and her husband George. I haven't seen them for over 5 years. I was very, very, very happy, because my cousin will be celebrating her birthday with me.

They arrived to Colorado Springs on Saturday morning. In the afternoon we went to Seven Falls. When we were in the line for paying, it started to rain and we went back to the town. We decided to visit The Prospect Lake. My cousin Pepe was very fascinated with the weather of Colorado Springs because it is different from Houston. Here it's chilly and the weather in Houston is humid. When we were in the lake it started to rain again, and we went back home. In the night we visited the show of the balloons in Memorial Park. I took some pictures, but in a moment I was lost from the rest of my family for about 30 mins. I felt scared, and they were in the car.

Finally on Sunday we went to Seven Falls. They were surprised with the nature, the mountains, and going up in the elevator. We gave some food to the squirrels and saw the native dancers.

We made a picnic outside my apartment, including my husband's family, and a cake to celebrate my cousin's birthday. They didn't know if they would be going back to Houston on Sunday because probably they will be evacuated from Houston for the Hurricane Gustav. My cousin made a few calls to ask somebody what happened with the Hurricane, and in the afternoon they went back to Houston, TX.

I'm soo sad, but maybe we'll go to Houston in December.

Hey everybody! If you have a story that has been revised and edited, then follow the directions, get logged in, and start typing! If you aren't ready yet, then you can go here or here and read other students' posts and leave them comments. You also might get some ideas about things to write about from them.

This is YOUR space-you can post your memories, your opinions, your thoughts, your experiences.

I hope you will find that blogging is a great way to share your talents and your lives with the world.
