I VOTED

Yesterday was an amazing day for me, because I went to vote. This is my first time voting in this country. I'm from Mexico and I am a naturalized citizen of the USA. In March of the present year, I received the most important right for the citizens people, VOTE.
This election for President of the USA is one of the most important of the last years, because for a first time an African-American is elected to be a candidate for a Democratic Party. I don't know if it's a secret vote, but I voted for Barack Obama for the new President of the USA. I voted for a change in this country. Now we need to wait to November 4th for to know who will be the new President. Barack Obama or John McCain.

The Turning Point

It was February 9,2008. I'd just walked in the house, coming home from sleeping over at a friend's house. As usually I was up stairs in my room picking out clothes to wear for the day. "Rie Rie, Cam is here!", my aunt yelled. As I was walking down the stairs to greet him, he turned to face me. Looking into his glossy dark brown eyes, I knew something was wrong.

As I rested his head on my shoulder, "D Mitch is gone!" Cam said. He passed away this morning. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Now tears were running down my cheeks. "What happened? I just talked to the two of you last night". Cam started telling me at the party they attended last night some guys started running off at the mouth. D Mitch tried to defend himself. Next thing noticed gun shots started to pop off. D Mitch and Samoan had gotten hit. Neither one of them made it.

After finishing up telling me what had happened, Cam went driving around to catch some air. For a second I couldn't move. I just stood there in complete shock. I couldn't believe what had happened. D Mitch was one of the most warm hearted people I've ever known. He always knew how to light up a whole room with his beautiful smile. And now he's gone.

A Place Called "El Bosque"

My favorite place when I was child was a park called "El Bosque".
This park was located two miles at east of the down town in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico place where I was born.
The park are surrounded of enormous trees and green grass.
In this epoch I was eight years old and my brother Pepe who was two years older than me.
Every weekend my father named Jose took two bicycles, lifted and put them in the car.
After that we went to "El Bosque".
This park had some roads with hills, ramps to enjoy an adventure on the bicycles, while we enjoyed the trip, my father was sitting to read the sports newspaper.
After playing on the bicycles, we went to the playground and played on the swings and the teeter-totter.
Then, around the park there were some people with some baskets where they put a lot kind of candies, where my dad bought that for us.
We spent all afternoon in this park.
I am thirty-four years old now, but I remember that like it was yesterday.

THE PLACE TO MEET

When I was teenager one of my favorite places was the down town in my city Morelia, Michoacan. This is in Mexico.
I liked to sit down on the edge of the fountain with the group of my friends Paloma, Marichu, Laura and Candy, to watch the people walk back and forth.
We got there everyday after school and stayed for a while.
After we spend a little time together, everybody took their own way.
My friend Paloma and I went sometimes to "Samborn's cafe" another times to "Vips Cafe", where every time smelled good.
We sat down to talk about our day in the school sometimes laughing remembering something fun we had or saw in the school.
We spend all afternoon talking and drinking coffe.
Every time we paid like one dollar and drank all coffee we want.
When I got out from there I was hyper, like I was flying or something like that because I drank about ten cups of coffe.

Giving Birth To My Son

Well I'm not much of a story teller, but I will try my best. When I was 16 years old I found out that I would be a mother real soon. Being so young and scared out of my mind, I thought I would keep it to myself. So that's just what I did. I was so scared and alone. I never went to the hospital, so I really didn't know when it would be time to bring my child into the world.

It was November 6th of 2004. I was home with my little brother and father. I didn't know what was going on, I just knew I had this really bad headache. I told my dad, but he wouldn't give me a pain reliever because I haven't ate anything. Next thing I noticed I was in the bathroom every 2 minutes. My water had broken. I didn't know because I kept using the bathroom. The last time I was in the bathroom I felt my son's head. " Oh my god!" I yelled out.

I quickly pulled up my pants and ran to my room. I laid on my fat boys chair and called my dad. "Dad come here now!" "It's coming", I said. My dad looked at me crazy. "Whats going on?", he said. "The baby", I said. My dad ran to his cell phone and called my grandparents, who lived 2 blocks down. Before I knew it I gave birth to my son in my bedroom.

SUMMER FAMILY

I had a great summer, because my husband's family came from Mexico. They were fifteen people. My husband had not seen his family in three years, and my siter-in-law seven years. They were very excited. Because his family was here we decided to baptize my little girl Stephanie. She's one year old. My sister-in-law also baptize her two sons Raul and Oscar. We made a "Big Party" for all the family. The rest of the days all the family went to the mountains, exactly Hellen Hunt Falls, Garden of the Gods. We visited many, many stores and muche more.
Finally they went back to Mexico, and the vacation was done.
